The Stenche of a Gully-hole is disgustin

Thanks to UCSB libraries access to the Times online back to 1785 I found the original letter from the 54 slum dwellers I showed you in class - which is quite widely cited since it was quoted in an article about Dickens. The letter is a little longer than the excerpt I showed you but it is indeed genuine - it's in the Thursday July 5th 1849 edition. There's a nice mention of cat swinging I hadn't seen before.
