Nigerian Children Get Polio Vaccinations

In the past many Nigerians did not understand the benefit to vaccinations and would refuse treatment. Many people believed it was against their religion and others just did not believe in its results. Before 2006 Nigeria reported almost half of the entire world's cases of polio. For an epidemic not to occur approximately 80% of the world must vaccinated. This video shows the changing minds of the Nigerian people on the idea of vaccination.

That was an interesting video. Before this class I never really thought about what would happen if people refused vaccination. It's interesting to see how time can change things.
