TB Resistance in Impoverished Peru

Dr. Sanjay Gupta examines Tuberculosis in Peru's poorest living conditions. We see how easily this disease is spread from person to person where the quality of life is so low. People live in close quarters, potable water is a luxury, and there are less means available for treating the disease. In this in one village, steps were taken to improve living conditions and regulate care for the infected. Partners in Health teamed up with the Peruvian government to educate citizens and eventually cure 75% with drug-resistant TB.
