Although there are now a number of sites like this one, this is by far the oldest and is probably the largest. Sites such as this make it very hard for any government to remain quiet about a disease outbreak indefinitely. Because of the importance of animal diseases to human health ProMED-mail also reports on emerging animal diseases.
